1) What is Online Bill Payment?
Online Bill Payments allows you to pay anyone in the US that you would normally pay by check or automatic debit through CheckFree and your financial institution. You can pay anyone even if you do not receive bills from the company or person you want to pay. You can set up automatic payments to pay your electronic bills or to automatically schedule payment of a set amount at regular intervals.
2) How does Online Bill Payment work?
Online Bill Payment allows you to set up the companies and people you want to pay by entering their information including name, address, phone number, and account number if possible. Once their information is entered simply select the company or person you would like to pay and then enter a payment amount and date you want them to receive your payment. Online banking will automatically save the company or person's information for future use.
3) How do I use Online Bill Payment to pay my bills?
Online Bill Payment allows you to add information on the companies and people you want to pay and then uses this information to make the payment. You only have to add the information one time.
4) Can I use more than one account to pay my bills?
Online Bill Payment allows you to make a payment from more than one bank account. You can choose which account the payment will be taken from. However, you can select only one account at a time in the Pay Bills section.
5) Does Online Bill Payment send you reminders when a bill is due?
Online Bill Payments allows you to set up e-mail reminders when the bill is due, when the bill is past due, when the payment has been sent, and when the money has been withdrawn from your payment account
6) How do I know if the company or person received my payments?
A company or person received your payment when the payment moves from the pending payments section to the recent payment section. You can also set up to receive an e-mail message when the payment is sent. The message contains any posting information that the biller sends us.
7) Can I change a payment?
Yes, Online Bill Payment allows you to change a payment if the payment has not started processing. Before the payment has started the process you can change the account from which the payment is made, the date you want the biller to receive the payment, and the amount of the payment.
8) How secure is my Bill Payment and personal information?
Online bill payment uses SSL, encryption, and automatic Sign out to ensure your information is safe made secure.
9) Who can I pay using Online Bill Payment?
Online Bill Payment allows you to pay anyone in the US that you would normally pay by check or automatic debit. When you pay a bill, Online Bill Payment sends that payment electronically whenever possible. If electronic payment is not available, a check will be printed and sent to the address you provide when you added your biller information.
10) Do I need to contact the companies or people that I pay if I choose to pay my bills online?
No, you do not need to contact the companies or people that you pay if you use this service. An electronic payment or check will be presented to them.
11) How long are my Bill Pay transactions available online?
Past Online Bill Pay transactions are available for viewing for up to 18 months.
12) Is there a fee for Online Bill Payment?
Online Bill Payment is free of charge for the first 15 bills paid in a month. You will be charged $0.50 dollars per bill after 15 bills.
13) How do I get started?
To sign up for Bill Payment simply contact a personal banker at one of our locations and sign up for Online Banking and Bill Payment.
