Enjoy the Convenience of One Card
One card does it all when you use the Community Bank Check Card. The Community Bank Check card is a Check card and an ATM card united as one and it has the power of Visa®. You can use it just like a check by presenting it at the time of purchase. The amount is deducted automatically from your checking account. Typically you will receive a receipt for record keeping, and each transaction is detailed on your monthly checking account statement. You can also use your Community Bank Check card at an ATM for quick access to cash. To find a surcharge free SHAZAM Privileged Status ATM near you click here.
You have three options to choose from when selecting a card with Community Bank:

Using Your Debit Card at Merchant Locations
You can use your debit card in two ways. The first option is to swipe your card through the merchant terminal and enter your PIN, just as you do at an ATM. The second option is to sign the sales receipt instead of entering a PIN. When selecting debit, you can request cash back as part of your transaction. Both ways deduct your purchase from your checking account. The Choice is yours: if you want to use your signature, select “credit” instead of “debit” on the terminal. This does not mean that you will be billed later, but it does afford you the same protections as your credit cards, including Zero Liability, which means you owe nothing for unauthorized charges.
Tips for Using Your Cards Responsibly
Upon receiving your new card, you will be required to activate the card. You can do this by calling the number listed on the card or making a withdrawal at an ATM. Your card and PIN number will be mailed to you in separate mailings. Before you use your card, be aware of these facts:
- Keep your PIN private. Memorize it and don’t write it down. Never tell it to anyone. If you would like to select your own PIN number, contact a Personal Banker at any Community Bank location.
- Always take sales receipts. They contain valuable information you may need later.
- If your card is lost or stolen, contact us immediately. This will limit your liability in case of fraudulent use of your card.
- Know your daily card limit. This limit is set based on your normal spending habits to protect you in the event that your card is lost or stolen. If you will be making larger purchases or traveling out of the country, please contact a Personal Banker to ensure that your purchases will be processed correctly.
